The First Annual Green Growth Conference, hosted by UNDP Egypt, brought together over 200 participants, including government officials, industry leaders, and youth advocates, to advance sustainable innovation. The conference’s theme for the first year was “Advancing Innovation for a Sustainable Future”.
Key outcomes included the signing of multiple MOUs with Banque du Caire, Plan International, and Vodafone Business to support SMEs, youth empowerment, and sustainability initiatives. The event also marked the launch of the National Green Taskforce to foster collaboration among entrepreneurs, policymakers, and the private sector, alongside the introduction of a Digital Learning Platform to train youth as Green Ambassadors. Additionally, 24 SMEs graduated from the Green Growth & Jobs Accelerator Programme (GGJAP), with winning projects receiving financial support to scale their sustainable solutions.
The conference featured panel discussions on green entrepreneurship and financing, six interactive workshops on circular economy practices and digital transformation, and a recognition ceremony for young Green Ambassadors. Emphasizing public-private partnerships and sustainability-driven economic growth, the event reinforced Egypt’s commitment to green innovation and environmental resilience.
