As Egypt accelerates its transformation of the Giza Pyramids Plateau into a world-class cultural and tourism destination, Orascom Pyramids for Entertainment (OPE) has taken significant steps to broaden the project’s impact through a series of strategic partnerships. These initiatives aim to elevate the visitor experience, enhance operational sustainability, and promote ethical standards within the archaeological zone.
OPE announced the renewal of its long-standing partnership with the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) for an additional five years, reaffirming the bank’s position as the founding and exclusive banking partner on-site. Under this agreement, NBE will continue offering digital banking services, branding rights, and joint marketing activities, supporting a seamless and modernized visitor journey. According to NBE Chairman Mohamed El-Etreby, the collaboration strengthens efforts to reflect Egypt’s forward-looking vision for cultural tourism and sustainable economic growth.
In a parallel development, Orascom Pyramids has signed a landmark cooperation agreement with The Brooke Hospital for Animals in Egypt, a leading global organization dedicated to the welfare of working animals. This partnership represents a major milestone in efforts to ensure humane treatment of animals operating within the plateau, an essential component of ethical tourism.
The agreement, signed under OPE’s broader cooperation with the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA), focuses on improving animal health and safety through routine veterinary care, preventive treatment, vaccination programs, awareness campaigns, and specialized training for animal handlers. New water stations will also be installed across the site in coordination with veterinary authorities.
Officials emphasized the cultural and humanitarian importance of this step. Hamed Al-Aqnas, Head of the General Organization for Veterinary Services, noted that animal welfare is deeply rooted in Egyptian civilization and essential to shaping global perceptions. Sherif Foda, Chairman of Brooke Egypt, highlighted the goal of positioning the Giza Plateau as a model for humane, sustainable tourism worldwide.
Orascom Pyramids Chairman Amr Gazzarin affirmed that animal welfare is inseparable from the visitor experience, emphasizing that sustainability must encompass people, animals, and place.
These dual partnerships come as the Giza Plateau undergoes one of its most ambitious redevelopments in modern history. With a holistic approach spanning digital transformation, modern visitor services, infrastructure upgrades, environmental responsibility, and ethical animal care, the project reflects a forward-thinking vision for the future of one of Egypt’s most iconic heritage destinations.
As the transformation continues, travelers visiting the Pyramids can look forward to a more seamless, sustainable, and ethically managed experience — one that honors Egypt’s past while embracing the needs and expectations of today’s global visitor.
