Egypt’s tourism sector continued its upward momentum in 2026, with inbound tourist arrivals increasing by 15.6% during the first quarter of the year compared to the same period in 2025. The growth reflects continued international interest in Egypt’s diverse tourism experiences and ongoing investments in the sector.
The positive results come despite global travel challenges, including rising fuel prices and adjustments to airline operations. In response, Egypt has introduced updated aviation incentive programs and additional measures aimed at supporting flight connectivity and sustaining tourism growth.
The country is also continuing to strengthen its international tourism partnerships and promotional efforts through campaigns highlighting authentic visitor experiences across Egypt’s cultural, leisure, and adventure destinations. Travelers are increasingly drawn to the ability to combine iconic historical landmarks, Red Sea resorts, desert experiences, and Nile journeys within a single itinerary.
Looking ahead, Egypt remains focused on its long-term tourism strategy, targeting 30 million visitors annually by 2030. Key priorities include expanding hotel capacity, enhancing tourism infrastructure, and regulating alternative accommodation models to maintain quality and safety standards across the industry.
The latest figures further reinforce Egypt’s position as one of the Middle East and Africa’s leading tourism destinations, supported by continued investment, diversified experiences, and growing international demand.
