On 8 January 2027, the 34th Egypt International Marathon will once again welcome runners from around the world to one of Egypt’s most iconic destinations. Recognised as one of the oldest marathons in Africa and the Middle East, the event combines athletic achievement with an unforgettable journey through landscapes shaped by thousands of years of history.
The course winds through Luxor’s West Bank, passing ancient temples, traditional villages and the timeless scenery that has made the city one of the world’s greatest open-air museums. Whether taking on the full marathon or opting for a shorter distance, participants experience Egypt in a way few destinations can offer.
The 2027 edition includes four race categories to suit runners of all levels:
- Marathon (42.2 km)
- Half Marathon (21.1 km)
- 12K
- 5K
Registration is now officially open through the event’s organisers, inviting both experienced runners and recreational participants to be part of this long-standing international event.
