Egypt has signed a landmark agreement with India’s luxury Taj Hotels to manage and operate the historic Continental Hotel, marking Taj’s first entry into the Egyptian market. The project will revive one of Cairo’s most iconic 19th-century landmarks, restoring its original architectural character while upgrading it to international five-star standards. Scheduled to reopen with around 300 rooms, the redevelopment supports Egypt’s strategy to preserve heritage assets, revitalize Khedival Cairo, and strengthen the capital’s position on the global luxury tourism map through public-private partnerships.
