Several historic valleys in Egyptās Saint Catherine region have reopened to tourists after a decade-long closure aimed at protecting the fragile mountain ecosystem. As of July 12, visitors can now explore sites like Wadi Sheikh Awad, Gebel al-Arbaāeen, and Al-Sebaāiya for safaris and camping. The move supports efforts to revive Saint Catherine as a leading destination for eco, spiritual, and adventure tourism, in line with the ongoing āGreat Transfigurationā project, which includes new infrastructure, lodging, and airport development to attract up to one million visitors annually.
