As part of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to enhance its tourism infrastructure, a new $120 million Sofitel Legend five-star hotel is under development in El-Remaya Square near the Grand Egyptian Museum, set to open on July 3. The hotel will feature 302 rooms, luxury suites, international dining, a shopping mall, and extensive entertainment facilities.
During the project’s unveiling, the Giza governor emphasized Egypt’s commitment to tourism as a key driver of economic growth, job creation, and foreign currency inflows. He stressed the importance of public-private collaboration in transforming Giza into a fully integrated tourist destination, highlighting this project as a valuable addition to the region’s hospitality offerings.
The government’s national tourism strategy aims to attract 30 million tourists annually by 2028, supported by EGP 50 billion in investments to expand hotel capacity and services across the country.
