Minor Hotels has signed an agreement for the new Anantara Somabay Resort & Residences, expanding the luxury brand’s presence along Egypt’s Red Sea coast. Scheduled to open in May 2030, the integrated resort will be developed within the Somabay masterplan, approximately 45 minutes from Hurghada International Airport.
The project will feature 300 hotel keys and 150 branded residential units, including sea-view rooms, beach and pool villas, and private beachfront residences with dedicated boat dock piers. A flagship Grand Royal Beach & Pool Villa will headline the accommodation offering.
Designed as a fully integrated luxury destination, the resort will include a variety of dining venues, wellness facilities, leisure spaces, and family-focused experiences. Its location offers convenient access for both Middle Eastern and European travelers, further strengthening Egypt’s position as a leading Red Sea tourism destination.
The signing reflects continued investment in Egypt’s hospitality sector, driven by sustained tourism growth and increasing international demand for luxury travel experiences on the Red Sea coast.
