Egypt is preparing to introduce a tethered balloon attraction near the Giza Pyramids, with trial operations expected to begin soon. The 15-minute experience will take visitors approximately 150 metres above the desert and offer panoramic views of the pyramids and their surroundings. Located around two kilometres from the pyramids and 2.2 kilometres from the Sphinx, the balloon will remain anchored and move vertically. Commentary about the area’s archaeological landmarks will be available through glasses and headsets in 12 languages.
