The Grand Egyptian Museum has received two international accolades during its first year of operation. The International Press Club of Spain recognised the museum’s architectural and cultural achievements and its work in preserving heritage for future generations. The Paestum Award 2026, presented by the Mediterranean Borsa of Archaeological Tourism in Italy, honoured the GEM’s contribution to safeguarding archaeological heritage and strengthening cultural cooperation across the Mediterranean. The museum’s chief executive also received special recognition for achievements in museum management, governance and cultural education.
