Egypt will replace paper landing cards with a digital passenger system across all airports by the end of January 2026, aiming to simplify arrival and departure procedures and enhance the overall travel experience. According to the Minister of Civil Aviation, the new system will allow passenger data to be processed electronically, reducing congestion during peak travel periods and aligning Egypt’s airports with international standards. The move forms part of a broader aviation digitisation strategy that also includes progress on an integrated e-visa system, improved baggage handling times, and the phased outsourcing of airport management operations — all supporting Egypt’s continued growth in tourism and passenger traffic.
